There is good news for PV installations commissioned between the 12th December 2011 and 2nd March 2012 as the Supreme Court has rejected the UK Government’s Feed-in Tariff Solar Appeal. There had been a great deal of uncertainty until the 23rd March in respect to which tariff would actually be received.
This result also provides security to the renewable energy industry that the Government cannot plan to make retrospective cuts to future schemes.
Applications for the Feed-in tariff within the following timescales going forward will receive:
|
Eligibility date(Dates when they actually apply to receive FITs ) |
Band |
Generation tariff |
|
1st April 2012 – 1st July 2012 |
If property cannot reach EPC Band D |
9p/kWh |
|
1st July 2012 onwards |
Rates will depend upon the total installed capacity between 3rd March and 30th April 2012. This is still under consultation. |
